About Ticket to the Moon

Ticket to the moon has initiated a relief project located on the rmote island of Sumba, indonesia since 2006. With not access to water or electricity, the Kodi tribe of Mandorak's county is struggling to survive with subsistence agriculture and fishing, it's main income relying on cashew havests. Sensitive to this crisis situation, Ticket to the moon has teamed up with local partners to help the Kodi people improve their life conditions, meanwhile preserving their ancestral culture.

Ever since, many concrete actions have been implemented - a primary school was opened, new roads where builte, a well was dig for accessing clean water and the tribe has been subjected to malaria screenings on a regular basis. In the meantime , these enhancements have come with education to preserve their culture and original island. Training youngest to build the traditional Kodi houses, providing nets to avoid bomb fishing that desctructs the ocean bottom, or again teaching waste management.

After three years of field experience, the Lestari Mandorak foundation was created to formalize the help to the sumbanese in the fields of health, education, culture and development. A co-founder and an active committee member, Ticket to the Moon has been investing 16% of his profit in this project since 2006.
